What PAPS values in its consultation support

PAPS' activities are based on the principle of the social work approach. We seek those who are self-aware (face to face with themselves) and who are willing to “listen” to their clients' stories.

PAPS' consultation support begins with “listening.

We have shaped our activities by listening to the words of our clients and basing them on their “stories” and “needs.

When “listening” to the other person's story, it is necessary to confront oneself with one's own prerequisites. The process of learning about one's own values, preconceptions, biases, beliefs, and biases is called self-knowledge. If you do not “listen” to the consultant without self-knowledge, there is a danger of leading the consultant's narrative.

  • The interview with the consultant is not a place to confront the consultant with personal principles and arguments.

  • The interview with the consultant is not a place to confront the consultant with the principles and arguments of a group.

  • The meeting with the consultant is not a place to confront the consultant with the group's principles, nor is it a place to ask questions that preoccupy one's own interests and concerns.

PAPS' consultation staff is expected to engage in this work with the awareness that this is a place where the consultant can talk about what he or she wants to talk about.
